SYNOPSIS
Gae Aulenti as few have known her, open to confidence and personal recollections, told from a rare interview-portrait from the late 1990s and with new contributions made. In Gae’s words, as well as in those of those who frequented her, loved her or studied her, an exceptional itinerary of a life lived with intensity and irony is composed, which great professional achievements have always been accompanied by charisma, curiosity and vast culture, the result of an uncommon passion for books and travel.
The childhood of vacations in the South, the years as a girl in Biella between school, war and small partisan actions, the arrival at the Polytechnic in the ruined Milan and the beginning of a career carried on by will and talent, in an all-male world. And then the great architecture such as the Musée d’Orsay, theater with Luca Ronconi, design, but also the relationship with the men in her life, and family affections. Putting aside the proverbial reserve, Gae offers us an even more unconventional, affable and full of charm image of herself.
