SYNOPSIS
Transforming an actor into a character, sewing a precious dress or a pair of vintage shoes as if they were a work of art, building a scenography, but above all painting it, “ageing it”, making a set designer’s sketch become a wonderful reconstruction: all this is Handmade Cinema. The documentary tells the story of the great family of Italian cinema that has preserved the heritage of its manual skills and of an art that the whole world envies at Cinecittà, all thanks to names that have never become “signatures”, and above all to the hands of truly special artisans who hand down their experience, like a family secret, from father to son.
