SYNOPSIS
Franca Helg was born in Milan in 1920 and graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 1945 with a degree in Architecture. After several years working as a freelancer, in 1950 she began to collaborate with Franco Albini, with whom she became an associate in 1952. Together they created the studio Albini-Helg. From the mid-1950s onwards, she designed many products for Vittorio Bonacina, a company working with rush and wicker. She also built a career in the academic world, obtaining a teaching post in Architectural Composition at the Politecnico di Milano. She died in Milan in 1989.
