SYNOPSIS
The documentary reconstructs an adventure born from two extraordinary men, that created a social and architectural experiment unique in the world : the Eni Village “Corte di Cadore”, a tourist center conceived and designed for mountain holidays of the Eni oil group employees, together with their families.
Since the early 50’s, the Village has been an incredible habit for Eni’s employees and their children, an experience that has left deep memories and forged the aesthetic taste and imagination of a whole generation.
The film reveals new images of the Gellner Archives and through his drawings, models and 16 mm footage tells the extraordinary modernity of pioneering architect, perhaps too “asymmetric” to be fully understood.
Through the investigation of a young director, an almost forgotten experience is recovered, showing what is remaining today of this attempt to bring a precise vision of the company to life, abruptly interrupted by the untimely death of his patron.
A dream of the past or lessons for the future?
